C.A.R.E. was formed as a result of the need to provide additional services to vacation owners whose needs were not satisfied by their major exchange company. The continued change in the focus and operation of major exchange entities, the need to maximize revenue and full the needs of marketing programs as well as the growth of vacation clubs has created the constant need to buy, wholesale and/or exchange inventory.
In 1997, C.A.R.E. addressed the need for an industry-wide establishment of a professional value system when its Code of Standards and Ethics was adopted. The Code sets standards that apply to practices that are occurring throughout the vacation industry. Most importantly, C.A.R.E. actively enforces its Code.
C.A.R.E.'s Bylaws provide detailed descriptions of C.A.R.E.'s structure and includes membership class definitions, officer qualifications and ethics procedures.
