Your June Issue of QuickConnects

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, June 30, 2020

Hello Friends,

Welcome to what I am calling “the other side”. I see daily updates on resorts and sales sites reopening and new cleaning and sanitation protocols being implemented. The positive is (we) our friends and colleagues are getting back to work and people are vacationing again; but the negative is that we are nowhere near having our industry back on the tracks and there is still so much work to be done. There is also the looming doom and gloom that we might be on the cusp of another shutdown. No matter our personal preferences or opinions, political party or conspiracy beliefs, each of us have to play a part in helping to prevent going backwards while still moving forward! I have not lost the faith and I hope you have not either. #CARESTRONG

Shout out and thank you to Andrew Graft with Access Development who has shared some positive insight on their contribution while “Coping with COVID19 Crisis” in this issue and we hope more of you will share your insights for future issues of QuickConnects. Everyone’s story of survival and revival from this pandemic is important and could prove beneficial to other members, please consider sharing your personal and/or company story. C.A.R.E. Going Green: The COVID-19 Pandemic's Impact on the World's Environment

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, June 17, 2020
The Biggest Carbon Crash Ever

According to the BBC, "No war, no recession or no previous pandemic has had such a dramatic impact on emissions of CO2 over the past century as COVID-19 has in a few short months." The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that the world will use 6% less energy this year which is equivalent to losing the entire energy demand of India. In a study published in May by Stanford Researcher, Rob Jordan, it was reported that global carbon emissions had fallen by 17% in April and that could lead to an annual carbon emission decline of 4%- 7%, which would be the biggest drop since World War II.

As our industry is well-aware, the world has cut back heavily on travel by air and on roads. According to the IEA, global average road transport activity fell to 50% of the 2019 level by the end of March 2020. Air travel also dropped hugely resulting in a 65% reduction in demand for jet fuel and global electricity demand was down by 20% or more. READ MORE......

Your May Issue of QuickConnects

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Dear C.A.R.E. Friends,

As I’ve told you before, no matter how late I am, we will send a monthly QuickConnects Newsletter! It just so happens that this month you’ll get two, to make up for me missing a date on a calendar in May!

INTUITION recently facilitated an industry wide survey and we’ve shared that information in this issue. There are links to industry wide results, C.A.R.E. segmented results, as well as a link to complete the survey if you have not already done so. While they are no longer promoting the survey it is still live and results are up to current date. Thanks to INTUITION (and C.A.R.E.’s Preferred Media Sponsor Perspective Group ) for facilitating this survey and allowing C.A.R.E. to segregate its own data for its members. One of the survey comments that resonated with me most was one person that said “use this time as a hard reset”. I was also happy to see so many of the comments on positive outlooks of our future. Be sure to check out the results, while the numbers and negative financial impact data might be staggering and frightening in the moment, we all have much to work on and look forward to as the future of travel evolves again.

Shout out and thank you to Brandy West with RSI Vacations who has shared some great insight on “Coping with COVID19 Crisis” in this issue and we hope more of you will share your insights for future issues of QuickConnects. READ MORE....

Your April Issue of QuickConnects

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, April 28, 2020

Hi Everyone,

As I write this my heart gets heavy as I think of the economic injury that our entire industry and the amazing people that make it great are enduring, personally and professionally. Please know that you have all been in my continuous thoughts and prayers during these (I don’t even know any more) days in quarantine and I hope everyone is doing their part to shut this pandemic down. I know we are all ready to get back to business, but let’s not do it too quickly at the sacrifice of all we’ve gone through and all we’ve got ahead of us in the long run! So as the stay orders are lifted…continue to stay smart about social distancing! Message brought to you by a friend, not a media outlet or politically driven message. Remember, we are…#CARESTRONG! Please, do all that you can to remain mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially strong as we are (hopefully) on the “other” side of this pandemic.

Although our industry has been one of the hardest hit financially, I think we’ll be one of the first and strongest to rebound, but we have to do it collectively. READ MORE.....

C.A.R.E. Going Green: Now More Than Ever...It's Time to Recycle

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, April 14, 2020

Now more than ever, it’s time to recycle. It sounds so cliche, but in all honesty, we should all be doing it.

Rather than bore you with a complete list of things to recycle,
I am picking my top THREE that I have started incorporating into my daily lifestyle this year. Pick my three, or pick your own,
but let’s all incorporate three new ways to recycle this year!

Your March Issue of QuickConnects

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, April 7, 2020

 Dear C.A.R.E. Friends,

So…what’s everyone been up to? No doubt, we’re in unprecedented times with many unknowns! But what I do know is that we are a resilient industry that can and will bounce back from this (CoVid19) pandemic. We must depend on each other to glean ideas for survival and recovery. I’ve heard many say, and I believe, that the travel industry will be one of the first, strongest and fastest to recover. So, while you’re surviving, be planning for that surge that we’ll all experience when the gates for travel are opened! I know we’re all dealing with lots of cancellations, but hopefully the majority are rescheduling for future dates and still booking new travel for future dates as well. If they aren’t, and you’re able to, you need to create a campaign and go after it!

As you should know by now, your Board of Directors recently had to make the difficult decision to postpone our 2020 scheduled conference in Philadelphia, PA. As a non-profit, with (non-cancellable) financial commitments already extended, rescheduling was our only option. We’re looking at it as a good exercise to host our first annual conference in the Fall! Luckily, we only had to make minor adjustments to our agenda and are still expecting a great conference! Be sure to save the new dates; see below for more information! Posted By Administration, Saturday, March 14, 2020

In light of the growing concerns around COVID-19, the C.A.R.E. Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to postpone C.A.R.E.'s 68th Conference that was scheduled for April 4-April 7, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The conference will now be held October 24- October 27, 2020 at the
Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If you made room reservations at The Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District through the booking link provided by C.A.R.E., your room reservations were automatically cancelled for April dates and reinstated for October dates.  You should have received a cancellation notice and a new confirmation.

Motivational Improviser, Avish Parashar, to Deliver Keynote Address at C.A.R.E.'s 68th Conference

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, January 28, 2020

MOTIVATIONAL IMPROVISER, AVISH PARASHAR,
TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT C.A.R.E.’S 68TH CONFERENCE

Harrisonburg, VA (January 28, 2020)- C.A.R.E. has announced that Avish Parashar, Motivational Improviser, will deliver the conference’s second Keynote Presentation during its 68th Conference to be held at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 4-7, 2020.

Parashar’s hilarious and energetic program “Ding Happens! How to Improvise, Adapt, and Innovate in an Ever-Changing World” will teach conference attendees how to stop fearing and hating change and how to use the power of improv comedy to improvise, adapt, and innovate-no matter what happens!  Parashar does advise conference attendees that “if things go 100% as planned for you every time, you can skip this session: otherwise,  attendees will enjoy learning how to reflexively respond to the unexpected in a way that reduces stress, improves productivity, and provides the skills to manage change.”

Avish Parashar believes that he is “quite possibly the world’s only motivational improviser”. He grew up in “exotic” Poughkeepsie, NY and now makes his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Though he performed all through high school, he decided to stop performing when he went to college.   His resolve lasted only a few months when he attended an improv comedy show and fell in love.  One week later he auditioned for the campus improv group, got in, and the rest is history.   After graduating, he started Polywumpus Improv Comedy and performed in and around Philadelphia for seven years. Avish now focuses on speaking and training and is the author of “Improvise to Success!” and the Amazon best-selling, “Say ‘Yes, And!” READ MORE
